Micaela Castanheira's next project is focused on youth.
If For Reminiscence centers on the past, Micaela Castanheira's current project focuses on the opposite: youth. In an interview with NiS, the young filmmaker revealed her ambition to create a piece about young people in the United Kingdom. "There is so much color, so much movement, so much vibrancy. All of that fascinated me," she shares. And so it happened. A year ago, she began developing ideas and writing the script, gathered the team, and set the project in motion.
The Youth is the title of the short film, and it's a fiction/drama project.

Micaela Castanheira
"One day, two people met simply to make music. The result of this curious encounter was equally enjoyable for both of them—sharing a vast array of common musical interests and ways of feeling them in sync, a personal project emerged as an escape from daily life. An atmosphere and unique entity were born from this fusion of distinct traits. Micaela, drawing inspiration from the world of jazz and musical theatre, transports the audience to her stage, a place to express her message. Martim, inspired by indie music and Portuguese music as a form of intervention, turns his voice into an invitation to his emotions. Together, they harmonize the words that inspire them the most."
